These are the things that are on my mind much of the time….and, I think, most of our minds? Yet we resolutely avoid discussing them.

So…..how do I express my anxieties about these big issues without feeling like I’m revealing too much or asking for help? Ugh. This is why I want to write fiction, so I can name a character “Marah” and describe her fears of sexual rejection and her woefully depleted bank account without anyone I know getting that it’s me. Maybe Marah will wear a mustache as disguise. No, that won’t work anymore. This winter I’ve really let myself go….or, you know, Marah has.
